iPhone CSS Framework

Article published Sunday, September 6th, 2009 at 1:11 pm

Just for fun, today was spent building a small iPhone targeted website using the iphone-universal project hosted over at Google Code.

The framework is very simple to work with and the results look surprisingly like the website was built as a standard iPhone application, instead of HTML and CSS.

This combined with a PHP framework gives us developers the means to develop rapid web based database applications for the iPhone. Combine this with a server side user agent detecting script, and your website can have both a mobile version and a browser version, while only having to write content and manage the system from one central location.

I know I’m excited!

Now, we just need to find out if Facebook Connect can easily be integrated into the system and we’ve got ourselves some pretty interesting mashup possibilities right around the corner…
